2008 Round Hill Oak Free Chardonnay
The bright fruit characteristics of this wine were kept fresh by a long, slow and cold fermentation, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks. The color is pale gold with pure, clean fruit aromas of fresh pears, pineapple, and lemon curd. Refreshing acidity with flavors of asian pear, green apple and meyer lemon. Good weight on the palate. A rich, full-bodied wine with fruity finish that softly lingers.
Food Recommendation:
Our 2008 oak-free Chardonnay is an excellent choice to pair alongside grilled swordfish with salsa, fettuccine alfredo or roast pork loin with an apple butter sauce.
Winemaker's Notes:
The mild summer and fall temperatures and virtually no rain made for an almost perfect growing season. Berry size was down – but this resulted in excellent fruit quality.
